On 3 September 2025, the SD-WISHEES project will hold a workshop at the Universidade de Évora, bringing together experts, researchers, community representatives, and students to discuss how to protect cultural and natural heritage from the growing impacts of climate change.

The workshop will focus on practical, innovative strategies to safeguard historic monuments, archaeological sites, natural landscapes, and intangible traditions from extreme events such as storms, floods, and droughts. Participants will explore how these challenges affect communities in both Europe and Africa, share case studies from the Balkans and African regions, and identify ways to strengthen resilience through research, innovation, and collaboration.

Through keynote presentations, case studies, interactive youth sessions, and a poster marketplace showcasing the work of researchers from various countries, the workshop provides a platform to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and shape future initiatives for protecting heritage from hydroclimatic events.

Join us at REALP | AMIGO 2025, from September 2–6, at the University of Évora—located in the city that will be the European Capital of Culture in 2027.
