Supporting and Developing WIdening Strategies to tackle Hydroclimatic Extreme Events: impacts and Sustainable solutions for cultural heritage
Context and problems
Water hazards as threats to cultural heritage which we live in the present and which we will pass on to future generations.
Scientific findings
Climate change can exacerbate transformations of cultural heritage through the occurrence of hydroclimatic extreme events.
Overarching aim
Strengthen collaboration among Research Funding Organization (RFOs) in Europe and beyond.
The project SD-WISHEES
Address together the protection and sustainable management of cultural heritage in Europe

Cultural heritage is defined by the UNESCO as the legacy we receive from the past, which we live in the present and which we will pass on to future generations - it is who we are and what shapes our identity. Cultural heritage does not end at monuments and collections of objects. It also embeds intangible culture and natural sites.

Supporting the European Research Area
We support the European Research Area aimed at creating a single, borderless market for research, innovation and technology in the EU.

We actively contribute to strengthening collaboration among European researchers and institutions, promoting knowledge sharing, cross-border partnerships, and sustainable innovation across the EU. Our support empowers a more connected and competitive scientific community.

Cultural heritage is the legacy we receive from the past, which we live in the present and which we will pass on to future generations.
